
What is the best natural remedy for sleep problems?
My father is 63 and has difficulty sleeping. What happened to the last two years, probably due to stress. I researched some natural sleep remedies, such as valerian and chamomile. Any recommendation about herbs natural remedies? Side effects? I hope the cure does not encourage intense dreams because my father has a tendency to sleep paralysis often. Thanks.
Well, there's melatonin, valerian, chamomile, hops, L-tryptophan, L-Theanine, Passionflower, and Scullcap (an herb). You can try one of those for help you sleep naturally. None of them should sleep more or less, but some people experience changes in dreams, because it changes their sleep patterns. Basically, people remember the dreams (and looks brighter) when they are partially awake … if you get enough sleep, can not remember. If the stress, there are few options to help that. Some of the most popular natural tensions are GABA, L-Theanine, Rhodiola rosea, 5-HTP and L-tryptophan. In addition, cut / reduce caffeine and sugar will help reduce stress. With all that being said, if you had trouble sleeping for years past and tend to sleep paralysis, I recommend to consult a sleep specialist. There could be a problem that is causing your sleep problems … a sleep specialist may be able to find the cause of this problem and help resolve (so not always sleeping pills). Good luck!
